Film Project: “I Have A Dream”
The theme of “I Have A Dream” is about ‘the pursuit of dreams’ and ‘the power of a mother’s love’.
Wei shut himself away due to repeated failures while pursuing his dream. He shunned society and was averse to food and drinks. Everyone thought he has gone crazy because of the truth he had to face in reality. His mother took him to several doctors but to no avail. This eventually led her to be convinced by a Taoist priest that this young man would only perk up when his dream is realized. Hence, the illiterate mother left her village with her husband, who was suffering from heart disease, to arrive at a city foreign to them. She then travelled from one town to another, finding some bosom friends along the way who helped her son realize his dream.
This is a touching yet inspiring comedy. We would like to highlight the power of a mother’s love, the significance of one’s dream and aspirations, the cruelty of reality, friendship and young love. At the same time, we would like to reflect on the ridiculous and pathetic phenomenon of our society. This is a diary of the young and carefree days dedicated to all young people, as well as a heartfelt dedication to the elders and children.
